Made famous to cyclists by the Amgen Tour of California. Compete on one of the toughest, most iconic, and most beautiful roads in North America.

Championship Route/Race Details

Flying Start @ Base of Gibraltar - Look for Start Signage

For safety of riders coming up, small groups at the top, to descend back to the staging area in waves. Ride single file and obey all traffic laws.

Gibraltar Rd. closed to general traffic but remains open to local residents. Ride heads up.

Early Athlete Check-In

Arriving in Santa Barbara early to enjoy the trip? You can visit Registration/Athlete Check-In on Friday, October 18th from 3:00PM - 7:00PM. Additional details will be emailed to riders.

World Champion Jerseys

Medals for the top three in each category/age group, and the winner receives a World Champion jersey, made of Castelli's technical fabrics, but dripping with the glory of rainbow stripes.

There will be a variety of parking options available for athletes. Please see below:

  • Shoreline Dr - Parking available in lots near event site. Follow Event Signage

  • Host Hotel - Staying in town the night before? Park at your hotel and ride over.

  • City of Santa Barbara Paid Lots - Various City Lots are nearby, see parking map attached below.

Champion Jerseys/Awards

Medals for top three and jerseys for first rider and first American across the line in each category. Race will be mass start by category.


UCI not invited so have fun with your bike! Drop bars optional, brakes and helmets mandatory, costumed encouraged. All bikes subject to inspection. WINNERS WILL BE TESTED FOR PERFORMANCE-ENHANCING DRUGS.

Drug Testing/Bike Inspections?

The UCI will not be invited, so have fun with your bike WITHIN REASON. Drop bars not required. Brakes and helmets mandatory. All equipment subject to judgement/inspection by our officials, and winners will be drug tested.
